여러가지 행사들을 보고~ 가든의 여러곳을 둘러보았습니다.

벚꽃행사가 치루어지는 Japaness Garden 은 시내중심가 바로 옆에 있습니다.
일본이 얼마나 호주깊숙히 들어와 있는지는 지방 도시마다 있는 Japaness Gardens 을 보면 알수 있습니다.

There is Japaness Garden in Bathurst but it's too small to call 'Garden', but... anyway Bathurst has a 'Japaness Garden' too.

처남댁이 이번에 선물해준 가족 커플티입니다. (이자리를 빌어서 고맙움을 전합니다)
온가족이 아주 잘~ 어울립니다. 가족커플티 덕분에 로지가 어딘가에서 징징거리고 있으면, 외국 할머니들이 손수 데리고 옵니다.(길잊어버린줄 알고..)








누나네 가족사진이 오랜만에 정상적으로 나왔습니다.
가족 사진을 찍을때마다 나타나는 써니의 눈감음.. 알프레디의 어색한 표정, 케서린 리처드의 공동 눈작게 만들기 등등을 모두 없애버린 사진입니다.
눈크게 뜨려고 오른손을 꽉 말아진 리차드의 노력이 돋보이네요~

매형이 삼각대를 가져와서 멋진 단체사진을 찍었네요~

일본축제답게, 일본의 다양한 볼거리를 제공했는데, 일본의 고유한 운동 스모의 시연도 있었습니다.
여자 챔피온의 충격적인 몸매로 인하여~ 깜짝놀랬다가, 여자별 남자별 각각의 경기후, 마지막 성대결이 볼만하더군요.
TV에서 봤을때는 손으로 마구 밀어내는것 같았는데, 여기서는 씨름비슷한 액션들이 좀 나오더군요.

게이샤 말은 많이 들어봤는데, 눈앞에서 직접 본건 처음이 아닐까 생각되네요..
보다 화려한 기모도.. 막부시대처럼 틀어올린 머리모양, 하얀색 분필로 칠해놓은듯한 얼굴화장, 뒤뚱뒤뚱 걷는 걸음걸이. 공연중 무표정한 얼굴...

사람마다 민족마다 각자 자신만의 호감형이 다른가 봅니다.

아참, 이분들 머리가 장난 아니죠? 가발처럼 보이지 않나요? 와이프가 자세히 봤는데, 진짜 머리랍니다.

이번 행사중에서 가장 기대되었던것이 바로 검도시연이었습니다.
시드니에서, 대략 4~5시간 떨어진곳에서 검도시연이 있다고 해서, 이동네에 검도장이 있나 생각했는데, 알고 보니, 시드니 검도팀이 공연하러 왔더군요.
죽도로 하는 검도가 아니고, 진검으로 짚단베는 그런 행사였습니다.
진검이다보니... 긴장감이 떨어지네요..

(죽도가 진검보다 긴장감이 더 하다? 이상하게 들릴지 모르겠지만, 검도를 해본 사람은 이게 무슨 소리인줄 알겁니다^^)

아이들이 직접 참여할 수 있는 행사로, 연을 만들어 보는 행사가 있더군요.
가오리연이나, 방패연처럼, 대살을 역어서 창호지로 만드는게 아니라, 기본 모양을 접어서, 그위에 빨대로 틀을 잡고, 구멍을 뚫어서 줄을 연결하는 방식으로 어린이들이 쉽게 만들수 있도록 준비되어져 있었습니다.

가족요금이 18불인거 같습니다.
특별한날이라, 평상시 입장료보다 저렴하네요.

Sakura Matsuri is a major event held annually in Cowra, in which many locals, Australian and International visitors have the opportunity to experience and learn traditional elements of the Japanese culture.

This year’s Sakura Matsuri incorporates some new and exciting changes designed to attract families and school-aged children.  The emphasis is on involvement and education with workshops featuring traditional Japanese crafts such as Origami, Calligraphy, Ikebana and Bonsai held at various times from Wednesday to Friday.

Saturday 27 September is Family Fun Day.  For the all-day admission charge of just $17 per family you can enjoy a range of activities designed to entertain every age group.  Children will be well catered for with the extremely popular Obstacle Course and  Kids Corner.  For the ‘children at heart’ there are Sumo Wrestling Tournaments, Karate, Sword Demonstrations, Tea Ceremonies, Origami, Calligraphy, Ikebana, Kite Making / Flying and Bonsai demonstrations.
 

On Sunday 28 September the festival concludes with a Reconciliation Service and wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Australian and Japanese War Cemeteries at 10.00am.  (NO CULTURAL ACTIVITIES ON SUNDAY)

A selection of Japanese food (bento boxes and sushi rolls) is available at the Restaurant, open daily 8.30 am to 5.00pm.

Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival - Exhibitions and Shows, Festivals and Celebrations, Performances Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) is a Japanese celebration heralding the arrival of spring every year when the cherry blossoms are at their best. The festival is held at the Japanese Garden in and is based on the traditional Japanese festival of the same name. During this time the Garden celebrates the coming of spring, focusing on Japanese culture and the beauty of the delicate cherry blossom. During the four day Festival a number of Japanese cultural events and workshops are held including Ikebana, Origami, Calligraphy, Shibori, Karate, kite flying, tea ceremonies, music recitals, sake tasting, local food and wine, pottery, bonsai demonstrations, Sumo Wrestling and kimono dressing. A wreath laying ceremony is also held at the Australian and Japanese War Cemetery on Sunday 28th September, and Cherry Trees are planted along Sakura Avenue.
